Events & Programs
Annie Bloom's Books - Book Fair Update

Thank you to everyone for participating in the Book Fair in May. Not only did we support a wonderful local business, we also raised $791.04 to support the Capitol Hill Library. These funds will help Mrs. Wutzke continue to add more books to the school's collection.

Leave your legacy at Capitol Hill

The PTA is selling customized engraved bricks to be displayed at the front entrance of the school. This is a great way to honor your child's time at CHE. Engraving will take place on the existing bricks. You can see previously engraved bricks at the front entrance of the school.

Click here to learn more and buy your brick.

All orders must be received by June 15th.

PTA Board Openings
The PTA is urgently looking for a treasurer

Hello, my name is Michael, I am the current treasurer of your PTA and I love my job. And I would love it even more if I could teach YOU to carry on the job for the next two years.

  1. Do you appreciate a penny as much as a $100 bill?
  2. Are spreadsheets and tables your cup of tea?
  3. Do you like red wine and PBS Masterpiece?
  4. Do you like to work on your own time and put a smile on people’s face?
  5. Do you like to learn and teach?

Then the treasurer job is for you! The duties of treasurer at our PTA are shared. In the first year you learn all the ropes and knowledge from the current treasurer, in the second year you will transfer your knowledge to the next generation.

The duties of the first-year treasurer includes writing checks to reimburse teachers, the school, and volunteers, make bank runs to deposit checks and cash, and record all transactions in our easy for everybody to understand accounting software. Did I mention that you can write the checks at home, while drinking (in moderation) red wine and watching Masterpiece Theater on Sunday night (that is how I got my start)? The time commitment is about two to three hours a week and you make your own schedule, some weeks are busier and some are more relaxed.

In the second year you will be responsible for the audit, taxes, and monthly reports to our membership, and you get to teach the next generation.

Please join us on the board as a treasurer and help keep the PTA going. Reach out with any question you have to me treasurer@capitolhillelementary.com. I'd love to hear from you.
