Congratulations to THE nerds!

Congratulations to Capitol Hill's OBOB champions, THE nerds - 4th graders Eli Hancock, Evelyn Hamilton, Kathleen Sanford, Mae Morgan & Violet Morgan - for all their hard work this OBOB season! All that hard work paid off and they are headed to theState OBOB competition in April! The team from Rieke Elementary, The Book Beagles, will also be joining them.

We are so proud of your hard work and can't wait to see you represent our amazing school at state!

Thanks to Jill Morgan who hosted the regional championships at Capitol Hill last weekend.

Congratulations and good luck to THE nerds!

Community Reading Buddies

Your PTA, in partnership with our teachers and Principal Sauers, is looking for community members to come in and read with our students

A Community Reading Buddies program promotes a higher interest and engagement in reading and has shown to improve social and communication skills and, most importantly, it’s just FUN! We have reading slots available throughout the week to fit your schedule.

This is a great opportunity for Grandparents, retired teachers, aunts/ uncles, etc. to get involved.

PPS background check required.

Please reach out to Kate Gannon-Sprinkel with interest and she will get you plugged in! volunteer@capitolhillelementary.com

What An Amazing Auction!!

The 2023 Capitol Hill Auction was an amazing success! The auction team worked hard to create an incredible auction and our community braved the ice and snow to help us raise money for our kids! Thank you to everyone that helped make the night possible!

With the help of some incredible donors, sponsors and community partners, we were able to raise $64,440!!

Of that, $18,665 was raised for the creation of

 the Student Support Fund

We will use that money to help support our kids in so many ways! We will be able to meet basic needs like new socks or shoes, help encourage attendance goals with incentive programs, provide scholarships for after school classes, introduce new programs through our equity team and so much more!

Thank you to everyone that helped us make the auction an incredible success!

Thank You to our Auction Sponsors
Family Movie Night at School!

It is FREE to everyone (siblings are welcome) and is a fun way to spend a Friday night! We will have more information to come but please addMovie Night on Friday, May 19th to your calendar.

Thank you to our 1st grade families that have been helping to make movie night happen! Events like this help us build a a stronger community for our kids.

Staff Appreciation Team

Capitol Hill on Instagram and Facebook

Say what you will about social media ... but it is a great way to get information out to lots of people quickly! For this reason, our PTA is on both Facebook and Instagram. Our Parents Facebook page is also a great place for parents to post questions and get information about things happening in our community.

It is also a great way to see old photos from PTA events if you are new to our school. ◡̈
