The Capitol Hill School Auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year and is what allows our PTA to do all the many things we do to make our school a great place to grow.

Mark your calendars!

Our auction will be held on

Saturday, March 9th.

WHEN IS IT?

Saturday, March 9, 2024 @ 5:30 p.m. at Mittleman Jewish Community Center.

WHAT IS THE THEME OF THIS YEAR’S AUCTION?

The theme of the auction this year Lights Camera Auction! (Hollywood Theme)

DO I HAVE TO DRESS UP? I AM NOT REALLY A COSTUME PERSON...

Please wear whatever makes you comfortable. However, if you’re in the mood to come in costume, here are a few ideas: Dress up as your favorite Hollywood star, a famous movie character, part of the crew or choose a Hollywood era you love! Come dressed in costume or whatever makes you feel comfortable. Most importantly, just come enjoy the fun!

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE ANYTHING AT THE AUCTION?

Absolutely not! Along with being our biggest fundraiser of the year, the auction is also our biggest adult-only community event. There is no obligation to buy anything.

WHAT TYPES OF ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR BID?

There will be student artwork, restaurant gift cards, event tickets, baskets, sign up parties, special outings with your child’s favorite teacher and more. Please visit the auction website (found on the invitation) for a sneak peak of the items available.  Check back starting in February once we begin to receive our procurement.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO HAPPEN THE NIGHT OF THE AUCTION?

From 5:30pm to approximately 6:45pm, there will be a cocktail hour. During that time, there will be a silent auction, wine wall, a game or two and lots of socializing. At 7:00pm, a buffet dinner will be served. After dinner, the fun begins with a live auction. The live auction will have several classroom art projects with art that your child helped make, as well as other exciting packages.

HOW DO I RESERVE A TABLE? DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TABLE AND HAVE PEOPLE PAY ME BACK?

Groups often buy a table at the auction so they can be sure to all sit together. You will find info about buying a table on the auction invitation coming out in January.

Do I have to reserve a table?

No, you do not have to reserve a table. You can purchase individual or couple tickets. We will sit people together by grade level tables if there are no requests. You can always request to sit near friends as well.

DO YOU HAVE TO BE A PARENT TO ATTEND? I HAVE FRIENDS AND GRANDPARENTS WHO WANT TO GET IN ON THE FUN!

Anyone who wants to support our school is welcome to purchase tickets! Invite your neighbors, the grandparents or bring along your weekend house guests!

HOW MUCH IS IT?

Tickets are $85 - purchase online soon!

WHAT HAPPENS WITH MONEY RAISED AT THE AUCTION?

Funds raised at the auction help support our school in any way we can. We fund a generous teacher budget, special field trips and experiences, books for the library, fun community events and allow for all students and families to attend all community events, regardless of income.

IS THERE A SPECIAL APPEAL THIS YEAR?

Yes! We will begin our exciting new outdoor transformation project!

OK, I AM SOLD NOW, HOW DO I BUY TICKETS?!

Information will be coming soon on how to buy your tickets!

CAN I STILL HELP WITH THE AUCTION?

We need lots of volunteers to have the auction go off without a hitch!  Email Nora Blackwell at auctionche@gmail.com for more information about volunteer options.

I CAN’T GO TO THE AUCTION, CAN I STILL DONATE?
